This Privacy Policy explains how WokQR / Karwingz handles personal information in connection with wokqr.com, the WokQR application, customer menus, onboarding, support and related services.
2. Information we may collect
- Account information such as name, email address and phone number.
- Restaurant information such as restaurant name, address, branches, menus, pricing, offers and operational settings.
- Billing information such as billing address, tax registration details and subscription history.
- Technical and usage information such as device/browser information, approximate activity logs, security events and product usage metrics.
- Customer order information submitted through a restaurant's WokQR menu, including customer name, phone number, table/session details and order information, where configured by the restaurant.
- Information supplied through enquiries, partner applications, support requests or other communications.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure WokQR, authenticate accounts, process subscriptions and invoices, deliver restaurant and customer workflows, provide support, prevent abuse and fraud, improve reliability and comply with legal obligations.
4. Role of the restaurant
When a restaurant uses WokQR to collect information from its customers, the restaurant determines the purposes and operational use of that information. Depending on the processing activity and applicable law, WokQR may act as a service provider/data processor for the restaurant while the restaurant remains responsible for the customer-facing notices, lawful collection and instructions it provides to WokQR.
5. Payments
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Payment credentials such as card numbers are handled by the relevant payment provider and are not intended to be stored by WokQR. Payment providers may separately process information under their own privacy notices and terms.
6. Cookies and local storage
WokQR may use cookies, session storage or local storage for authentication, preferences, table/customer session continuity, security and product functionality. We do not use these mechanisms to access unrelated personal information on your device.
7. Service providers and disclosures
We may share information with infrastructure, hosting, analytics, communications and payment service providers where needed to operate the service, with appropriate contractual or technical safeguards. We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, regulatory process or to protect rights, safety and security.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss and misuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet contractual and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse and comply with law. Restaurant data may remain subject to the customer's retention instructions or contractual arrangements.
10. Your requests
Subject to applicable law, you may contact us to request access, correction, deletion or other assistance regarding personal information. Where WokQR processes information on behalf of a restaurant, we may direct the request to the relevant restaurant where that restaurant is the appropriate decision-maker.
11. Applicable privacy law
We intend to handle personal information in accordance with applicable Indian data protection and technology laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules or notifications applicable to the service.
